Amelia Earhart disappeared over the central Pacific near Howland Island in 1937. She was a famous aviation pioneer, an author, and an advocate for women's rights. Her life prior to 1937, a wild and adventurous one, was well known to the public. But facts regarding her disappearance are thin and speculations abound. Michael Colleran, MBA, UI, retired B-52 aircraft commander, will discuss the latest theories regarding her untimely demise and explore the controversies surrounding it.

Event is provided as part of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) program at the Lake Park Retirement Center located at 1850 Alice St., Oakland. Lecture takes place Tuesday, March 15, 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Visit the OLLI Web site for more information or to register for the program.
