MBA Program Earns Top Tier Ranking From Magazine

- February 22, 2016
CEO Magazine released its worldwide 2016 MBA program rankings this month and 麻豆传媒社区入口 is in the top tier for MBA rankings in North America and Global Executive Master’s in Business Administration (EMBA) rankings.
“It feels great to be in the top ranking. It validates the program’s quality and our efforts at providing professional development activities,” said Joanne Lee, chair of CSUEB’s marketing department.
The rankings are a first for 麻豆传媒社区入口, but recognition that Lee, who also serves as director of graduate programs for the College of Business and Economics, said is well deserved. “The college has been striving to give the best experience to our students all along. We haven’t been doing it to get a score, but now we’re being asked the right questions.”
Lee explained CEO Magazine is somewhat unique in how they measure a program’s quality. According to the publication, there are three categories of criteria: program data, student data and faculty data. Program data includes accreditation, professional development opportunities and price. Student data includes gender composition, work experience, class size and international student composition. Faculty data measures factors like faculty-student ratio, academic qualifications and professional experience.
“This is the first time we’ve really gotten credit for what we do well, above and beyond the classroom,” Lee said. “We’ve added services like bootcamps, workshops, personal branding and professional development opportunities. CEO is really measuring the inside of the program, what is being delivered here and the substance."
The monthly magazine has been ranking MBA programs across the globe since 2012. This year, editors said they reached out to more than 300 schools across North America, Europe and Australia. According to the publication, the list is “designed with applicants in mind, and examines the nuts and bolts of an MBA. The objective is simple: to identify schools which marry exceptional quality with great return on investment.”
Lee appreciates the factors considered in the rankings. “I think it’s a reflection of what people are saying about the importance of professional development curriculum in helping MBA students,” Lee said.
The rankings also offer a way for business schools to compare programs. CEO Magazine does not rank schools within the tiers. Instead, according to the magazine, all schools ranked Tier One should be considered on par with all other schools named in the top tier.
“It shows that we’re keeping current compared to other management education programs around the world,” Lee said.
麻豆传媒社区入口 has received first-class rankings from several other respected evaluators, including The Princeton Review. This year, the publication named CSUEB one of the best business schools in the country and it was also ranked in Best Colleges: Region by Region, Western.
