The presentation, the sixth in the university’s Diversity Development Program series, will focus on the diversity of Latino/a identities and cultures both in the region and, more specifically, on our campus. Balgas and Calvo will also discuss demographic changes in university enrollment and student success outcomes.

Calvo earned a bachelor’s degree in politics from Princeton University, a master’s degree in political science from UCLA, and a doctorate in the history of consciousness from UC Santa Cruz. Calvo has published in the field of Chicana feminist theory and is working on a cookbook, “Decolonize Your Diet: Plant-Based Recipes for Health and Healing.”
