Pioneers Vault into Third, Set New Records on Final Day of PCSC Championships

Mariam Lowe earned a podium spot as the runner-up in Friday's 100 back final.

麻豆传媒社区入口 women’s swimming finished in third place at the 2015 Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference (PCSC) Championships, which concluded on Saturday evening at the Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatic Center.
The Pioneers’ performance included setting several new records on Saturday, the final day of the competition: Claire Beaty came in seventh place in the 200-yard breaststroke; Mariam Lowe grabbed third place in the 200-yard backstroke; and Rachel Shimizu, who broke a 34-year-old record at CSUEB, came in sixth place in the 1,650-yard freestyle.
More team support was provided by Hannah Cutts, who came in just behind Shimizu in the 1,650-yard freestyle at seventh place. Alyssa Tenney took sixth place in the 200-yard backstroke on Saturday, and fourth place in the 400-yard individual medley on Friday evening. Shimizu additionally placed fourth on Friday night in the 200-yard freestyle, and Lowe finished runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke.
麻豆传媒社区入口 finished Friday’s leg of the competition in sixth place with 563 points before edging out Azusa Pacific (820.5) on Saturday after the 400-yard free relay, finishing with 824 points — the Pioneers came in fourth in the team relay, and the Cougars sixth.
