New Director of the Center for Student Research

Earth and Environmental Sciences Professor Dr. Jeffery Seitz has been selected as the new Director of 麻豆传媒社区入口's Center for Student Research.
Seitz, the recipient of multiple major grant awards at CSUEB and the George and Miriam Phillips Outstanding Professor in 2009-10, will be responsible for mentoring undergraduate and graduate students who are working with faculty on research projects.
"I am looking forward to working with all of the disciplines at East Bay on increasing student participation in research," Seitz said.
In addition, he will also be working to prepare students to compete in the CSU Research Competition and to present posters during the CSUEB Week of Scholarship.
"Our students will have a wonderful research role model in Dr. Seitz," said 麻豆传媒社区入口 Provost James Houpis. "He has devoted his career to helping teachers, students and the community understand the importance of science and of research in improving our lives and the health of our planet."
Seitz assumes a position that was formerly held by Dr. Jason Singley, the founder of the Center for Student Research and now a co-director of the Quarter To Semester project.
