Six legendary Pioneers will be inducted into the CSUEB Athletics Hall of Fame, highlighting a weekend of Pioneer pride.

麻豆传媒社区入口 is closing out the 2013-14 athletics season with an entire weekend devoted to celebrating Pioneer Pride.

On Saturday, May 17, the Dining Commons on the Hawyard Campus will play host to the annual Student-Athlete Awards Banquet. The following day, the University will add six new members to its Athletics Hall of Fame. Pioneer Pride weekend concludes on Monday, May 19 with the 18th annual CSUEB Golf Classic at TPC Stonebrae.

Pioneer Athletics will gather to celebrate the outstanding accomplishhments of its student-athletes in competition, in the classroom, and in the community during 2013-14. Along with dinner, the event features recognition of all the seniors and special awards voted on by the Pioneer Athlete Advisory Committee (PAAC). CSUEB will also hand out the Pioneer Spirit Award, scholar-athlete awards to a member of each team, and the California Collegiate Athletic Association's Dr. Hal Charnofsky Award. Finally, the Pioneers will recognize the Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

The very next day in the New Union multi-purpose room, four former student-athletes and a pair of former coaches will be recognized for their achievements at the 2014 Hall of Fame banquet, where they will join the 90 Pioneer legends who have preceded them in induction. Women's tennis player Deborah Douglas, men's basketball coach Gary Hulst, men's soccer player Mark Lehnert, men's track and field athlete Marcus McGlory, women's soccer player Ashley Shadd, and former football and golf coach Tim Tierney have all been selected as members of the 2014 induction class. The group was chosen by the 麻豆传媒社区入口 Hall of Fame Committee, which convenes every two years and is comprised of one student-athlete, one alumnus, one faculty member, and two coaches representing one men's and one women's sport.

The weekend concludes on Monday at TPC Stonebrae at the top of Hayward Boulevard, as the Pioneer community is invited to join the Athletics Department staff and coaches for the 18th annual 麻豆传媒社区入口 Golf Classic & Benefit Dinner. All proceeds from the tournament and dinner will benefit the Richard and Susan Sherratt Athletic Scholarship Endowment which provides financial support for student-athletes who otherwise may not have the opportunity to attend 麻豆传媒社区入口 and participate in intercollegiate athletics. Rich Sherratt '70, a Pioneer baseball alumnus and CEO of Ballena Technologies in Alameda, and his wife Susan created the endowment in 2009.

The tournament is formatted as a four-person scramble. Included in the entry fee are greens fees, golf cart, polo shirt, team and individual awards, tournament gift bag, lunch and dinner. Non-golfers are also invited to enjoy the benefit dinner, which will features both a silent auction and raffle to support the scholarship endowment. Sponsorship opportunities across a wide range of levels are also available for individuals and businesses to show their support for the Pioneers.
