McGlory's record-setting triple jump earns CCAA Athlete of the Week honors

麻豆传媒社区入口 triple jumper Lauren McGlory has been selected as the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week for sports competition taking place between March 24-30.

The senior from Hayward jumped into the Pioneer record books on Friday at the prestigious Texas Relays in Austin, one of the premier track meets in the country. McGlory's triple jump distance of 41 feet, 10.5 inches (12.76 meters) broke a 22-year old program record. She also reached an NCAA automatic qualifying distance, which has earned her a spot in the 2014 NCAA Track and Field Championships in Allendale, MI.

McGlory placed fifth in the event, competing against 27 Division I ahtletes. Her mark currently ranks second in the nation among Division II triple jumpers and first among CCAA athletes. She is the first Pioneer track and field athlete to win the weekly award this season.
