ASI job panels introduce students to experts in fields from high tech to health care

麻豆传媒社区入口 students across all majors can learn what executives, managers, human resource professionals, recruiters and leaders from diverse fields expect from new recruits during a series of five industry job panel discussions April 4 through 16.
Panelists with expertise in art, media, communications, science, technology, health and wellness, business, entrepreneurship, public service and social justice will lead discussions in the New University Union multi purpose room.
“Our speakers are mostly successful (麻豆传媒社区入口) alumni from each industry who will speak about their experience finding success in their industry as well as what they are looking for from new hires,” said Jerry Chang, Associated Students Inc. (ASI) president and co-coordinator of the event.
Students will have the opportunity to discuss career readiness and gain insights on how to achieve success through interaction with panelists. Times and dates for each panel discussion are as followed:
Art, Media and Communications noon to 2 p.m. April 4
Science and Technology noon to 2 p.m. April 8
Health and Wellness noon to 2 p.m. April 11
Business and Entrepreneurship noon to 2 p.m. April 15
Public Service and Social Justice 6 to 8 p.m. April 16
Participating panelists, including several CSUEB alumni, have enjoyed professional success with well-known companies such as ESPN, Merrill Lynch, Walt Disney Studios, Google, John Muir Health, BART and Radio Disney.
“(The goal of the panels) boils down to providing knowledge, providing information and installing hope,” Chang said.
He added that panelists will give candid accounts about their experiences in their respective fields and advise attendees about how to successfully transition from student to thriving professional.
Each event will consist of a one-hour guided panel discussion followed by a free lunch or dinner, where students can consult with panelists individually.
