HAYWARD, Calif. - The 麻豆传媒社区入口 men's soccer team was the hard-luck loser in a 1-0 loss to Cal State Stanislaus on Friday night at Pioneer Stadium. After playing to a scoreless draw into double overtime, the Pioneers (2-11-2, 1-8-2 CCAA) were the victims of a Warrior free kick in the final second of play, giving CSUS the victory despite being shut out for 109 minutes while taking 42 shots.

"The guys played great for 110 minutes," CSUEB Head Coach Andy Cumbo said. "The team earned the tie tonight. It was unfortunate that the game had to end the way that it did."

With less than 10 seconds remaining in the second overtime, Stanislaus won the ball at midfield and looked to make one last attempt at goal. After time had seemingly expired, the Warriors were awarded a free kick and one second on the game clock to complete the set play from just outside the penalty area. With no time for a second touch, Arturo Pulido lined up the kick and went for goal. Pulido's shot cleared the 10-man wall and just grazed freshman keeper Bryce Bookhamer's hands but found the back of the net to give the Warriors the victory.

Despite dominating offensively, Cal State Stanislaus could not get past the Pioneer defense and Bookhamer until the final second of the game. The Warriors posted 21 shots in the second half and held a 42-7 advantage in shots in the game, but Bookhamer made 16 stops, including several spectacular saves, to keep CSUS out of the back of the net. Bookhamer got help from his defense, which blocked nine strikes in the match.

The Pioneers made the most of their seven shots, putting three on net. Though he required just three saves to post the shutout win, Warrior keeper Bill Hambelton was tested by 麻豆传媒社区入口, who broke through on the counter attack a number of times on the night.

Cal State Stanislaus midfielder Jio Santana led all players with 10 shots on the night, while seven different players each posted a shot for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers will look to bounce back on Sunday, when they play host to No. 14 Chico State at 2 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
