Pioneer women finish second, men take fourth at Notre Dame de Namur Invitational

BELMONT, Calif. - The Pioneer women's cross country team finished second out of nine teams at the Notre Dame de Namur Invitational on Sept. 4. East Bay finished with 40 points, four shy of winner San Jose State.
Four runners placed in the top 10 led by Megan McDaniel's fourth place finish (19:17) and Amanda McNabb's fifth place showing (19:26). Tiffany Duffy placed 7th in 19:37 and Nancy Velazquez 9th in 19:56.
Bernadette Lu finished 15th while Nastassia Hamor and Clarivel Vega placed 20th and 21st respectively to round out the Pioneers performance at the Notre Dame de Namur Invitational.
The Pioneer men's team finished fourth out of five teams in the Notre Dame de Namur Invitational. Erik Rodriguez was the Pioneers top finisher with a 9th place effort. Rodriguez covered the 4.2 mile course in 23:20. Francisco Pulido recorded a time of 24:51 to finish in 19th place. Scott Pallesen placed 21st with a time of 25:24.
John Erlandson clocked a time of 26:00 to finish in 25th place. John Vergara finished in 30th place to round out the Pioneers effort.
