CSUEB: Is this your lifetime dream of becoming a major league baseball player?
Grigg: Ever since I was a little kid picking up a glove, a bat, and a ball, I always wanted to play professional baseball. I love this game and the Twins are giving me the opportunity to fulfill my dream.
CSUEB: Were you surprised that a major league team would draft a player from an up-and-coming university in the Bay Area?
Grigg: I'm the eighth player to be drafted from 麻豆传媒社区入口. There are a lot of quality collegiate baseball players in the Bay Area. From the youth leagues to the college level, the Bay Area is a haven for future professional baseball players.
CSUEB: How do you think your time on and off the Pioneer baseball field over the past two years has prepared you for the next level?
Grigg: Playing for the Pioneers gave me the opportunity to play with some great teammates and to compete against strong competition at the Division II level this season. Pitching in the very competitive CCAA conference will help me in the coming months.
CSUEB: How will you prepare for life at the next level?
Grigg: It will be different having lived and gone to school in the Bay Area my entire life. I’ll have to adjust to the lifestyle of a professional baseball player. It will be interesting.
Grigg was one of six CCAA players selected on the second day of the draft and is the first Pioneer drafted since Ray Stokes was picked in the 16th round by the San Diego Padres in 2006. Read more about Grigg's selection by the Twins here.
