CSUEB To Host SoccerPlus National Goalkeeper Clinic

SoccerPlus Goalkeeper School, FC Gold Pride and 麻豆传媒社区入口 men's soccer will host a goalkeeping clinic on April 25.

HAYWARD, Calif. - The 麻豆传媒社区入口 men's soccer coaching staff is teaming up with SoccerPlus Goalkeeper School to host a one-day clinic this spring at the 麻豆传媒社区入口 Campus. The co-ed clinic will be held April 25 and will feature SoccerPlus National Director Ben Pinkerton and FC Gold Pride (Women's Professional Soccer) goalkeeper Brittany Cameron as instructors.

Tony DiCicco, current head coach of the Boston Breakers and former U.S. Women's National Team head coach, founded SoccerPlus and designed the organization's training method. DiCicco led the U.S. Women's National Team to the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup title and a gold medal in the 1996 Olympic Games. "The DiCicco Method" seeks to challenge, guide and encourage young goalkeepers all while having fun playing the game.

Pinkerton, Cameron and 麻豆传媒社区入口 Head Coach Andy Cumbo will instruct the clinic. Pinkerton serves as national director for SoccerPlus and is a former North Carolina State women's soccer assistant coach, while Cameron is a Bay Area native who currently plays for the local WPS franchise, FC Gold Pride. An alumnus of the Pleasanton Rage Girls Soccer Club, Cameron is a former SoccerPlus student and staff coach. Cumbo has nine seasons of collegiate head coaching experience, was an all-conference keeper at SUNY-Plattsburgh and is a former SoccerPlus student, staff coach and director.

Along with a full day of goalkeeper training, the clinic will also serve as a preview for this summer's SoccerPlus residential camp, for both goalkeepers and field players, to be held at 麻豆传媒社区入口. The clinic is scheduled for April 25 from 10 a.m.-1p.m. for boys and girls ages 11 and up. The cost of the clinic is $60 and registration forms are available on the Pioneer men's soccer camps website.
