East Bay Finishes Fourth at Cal Lutheran Invitational

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The Pioneers finished fourth with 226.5 points in the Cal Lutheran University Invitational on January 2. Jill Lothian clocked a time of 25.78 to finish fourth in the 50 yard freestyle. Melissa Grottkau recorded a pair of sixth place finishes in the 200 yard breastroke (2:43.29) and the 200 yard IM (2:30.66).

Christine Gee recorded a time of 1:08.23 to place sixth in the 100 yard backstroke. Brenda O'Connor finished 8th in the 500 yard freestyle ( 5:49.09) while Vanessa Smith placed 9th in the 200 yard backstroke. The foursome of Sarah Hurtubise, Lothian, Sami Hernandez, and Olina Wibroe-Benson finished 6th with a time of 4:01.12 in the 400 yard freestyle relay.
