The Braddock Center for Science and Innovation: Advancing Excellence in STEM Education and Research

Braddock Center Now Open
Hands-On Research Now in Action
The Braddock Center for Science and Innovation is now open at 麻豆传媒社区入口 — and classes are already underway! Made possible by a transformative $5 million donation from Robert Braddock and Cherie Keemar through Braddock Philanthropies, this new, state-of-the-art facility is reshaping the future of science education on campus.
Students are diving into hands-on research and discovery, working side-by-side with professors in open-concept labs built for collaboration and innovation. The Braddock Center expands the College of Science’s commitment to faculty-mentored research and offers more opportunities than ever before for students pursuing careers in science, technology, and engineering. It’s a vibrant, future-focused hub where today’s students are becoming tomorrow’s scientific leaders.
A Hub for Innovation and Discovery:
The Braddock Center, a 20,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility funded entirely through private donations, provides students with cutting-edge research labs, collaborative learning spaces, and innovative technology hubs. Students now work alongside renowned faculty on groundbreaking projects in an environment designed for creativity and exploration.
Inside, students and faculty have access to:
Cutting-edge Research Labs: Open-concept labs where student and faculty teams collaborate on advanced research. Two key labs include the Green Biome Institute Lab, focused on studying and conserving California's endangered plants, and the Biotechnology Lab, where students gain hands-on experience in molecular biology and bioinformatics.
Technology Collaboration: A dedicated student-faculty research space that fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of new technologies across fields of study.
Innovation Center: A signature space where students tackle real-world challenges using emerging technologies. The Innovation Center supports project-based learning, outward-facing programs, and student capstone projects in engineering, physics, and more.
Active Learning Classrooms: Designed like team offices, these spaces encourage teamwork and long-term projects. Students can leave their materials in place to support ongoing collaboration with faculty, peers, and community partners.
