Phil Chernin has joined the board of directors of Solairus Aviation.

Chernin started his career at the CPA firm of Ernst and Young as a member of the technology group working on Sperry, Intel and Apple. Chernin has been the CEO and CFO of both technology and consumer companies and now has his own investment banking firm in Lafayette, Calif. Chernin has been around aviation his entire life; his father was a founder of the all-cargo Seaboard World Airways.

Chernin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Cal State-Hayward with additional graduate work at UC-Berkeley. Chernin has also taught in the MBA program at Golden Gate University, as well as extension classes for UCLA, UC-Berkeley, and the California CPA Society.

Chernin believes that Solairus is positioned for continued growth in the business aviation industry.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of the team,” Chernin stated. “The company’s growth curve is very exciting and we are now in a position to play a pivotal role in this highly fragmented industry. The management team has done an excellent job putting all of the pieces together. Creating a company of this magnitude during the current economic climate shows how extraordinary Solairus’ capabilities truly are.”

Solairus is an aviation asset management company that provides clients with expertise in acquiring and operating a wide range of private aircraft. For more information: SolairusAviation.com
